Just installed Snitter and wanted to give you my quick thoughts. I had to install Adobe Air first, which I’m glad about because I’ve been meaning to do it for a while. Then the Snitter install took 30 seconds. My immediate reaction to the interface is that it’s nice and simple, and pretty (I like [Keep Reading…]
Twitter: Fun and Effective
Okay, so I’m addicted to Twitter already. But who could blame me?! There are a ton of cool mashups and apps out there, and I feel like I’m just beginning to scratch the surface. Today’s finds are… Tweeterboard A look at the most influential people on Twitter. Most popular today, this week, in general. Top [Keep Reading…]
CrowdVine Schedule problems
IxDA Interaction 08 is using CrowdVine for pre-conference social networking. I think it’s an awesome idea, and so far CV has been great. I’ve been able to connect with a bunch of fellow attendees, including a good friend of mine from grad school who I didn’t know would be there. It’s a great way to [Keep Reading…]
Skitch!
I just downloaded a copy of the Skitch beta and wow, I’m already impressed. On their website they describe themselves as “fast and fun image sharing.” I love any company that knows how to explain their product in five words. And the crispness in that message is reflected in the app itself. See this photo [Keep Reading…]
Bill Gates’ Last Day at Microsoft
I know it happened two weeks ago, but I just stumbled upon a clip of Bill Gates’ keynote speech at CES 2008. He opened with a video of what his last day as a full-time employee at Microsoft might be like. Many of you know that I’m a die-hard MacAddict, and by extension lover of [Keep Reading…]
Help me name my blog
I wrote a weekly newspaper column for two years. I almost never had trouble coming up with a headline — in fact, they usually came to me while I was interviewing an artist or looking at his art. They were pithy, witty, often sardonic. That’s just my style. Yet somehow, I can’t name this blog. [Keep Reading…]

I Scare Myself
I read a statistic in last weekend’s Wall Street Journal that surprised me: “U.S. households had their TV sets on for 8 hours and 44 minutes daily during the 2006-2007 television season, according to Nielsen Media Research.” I thought about how that could be possible. Start with 524 minutes. Let’s say you wake up at [Keep Reading…]
Microsoft Download Center
Apparently Microsoft forgot that people read from top to bottom. I have a file that was created in Microsoft Word 2007 and I need to open it on my home computer, a Mac with Word 2004. The new extension is .docx, and as a result my computer can’t read it. After some Google research, I [Keep Reading…]
Facebook helps users “clean up” their profiles
Facebook has finally realized that people’s profiles are out of control. Yes, it’s great that they allow users to run third-party applications in their profiles as a form of self-expression and entertainment (free to the user and the developer), but when you’re just looking for someone’s contact information it can be impossible to find in [Keep Reading…]
