What was the moment you realized you needed support?
I had been working for ages towards getting my dream job as a product manager at my current company and I finally did! Once I got there though, I felt a bit like I was operating without a plan. All my energy had gone into this huge career achievement and then I didn’t have a “what’s next and why.” I felt rudderless.
How did you decide Whitney’s coaching could be that support?
The first time I met with Whitney, I knew she would be able to help. She spent a huge amount of time understanding my goals, where I was currently, and digging into the details of me as a human. She’s amazing at teasing out details that make a huge impact in how you see yourself in relation to the world around you.
What was the moment you noticed your habits were changing?
After Whitney and I anchored to a coaching plan, it was almost as if the coaching plan itself freed me from a lot of unhelpful thinking patterns. With a clear plan to achieve outcomes that I LOVED, it was really easy to start racking up little victories. One thing I’m particularly proud of during this time, was letting go of some beliefs about leadership to embrace my natural talents as a leader. I was holding back in how I approached my career and limiting my growth because I believed I couldn’t provide real value as a leader.
How has coaching changed your circumstances or perspective?
I’ve experienced an immense amount of growth since my coaching engagement with Whitney. I’ve gotten amazing feedback from some of the people I support and I’ve been able to create some new opportunities for leadership at my job, which I already loved. Additionally, the very act of participating in coaching has changed my own approach to how I develop and support team members.
Thank you so much, Nate, for your kind words and reflections on our coaching engagement. My utmost gratitude to you!
