Today is 10 years since my coaching instructor Christy Svanemyr’s tragic death. My heart is with her husband Vegar Svanemyr and daughter Isa, sister Suzanne Moses Kanick and family in their grief and remembrance today and every day. I remember her dancing with abandon in the classroom on Geary, and flashing that thousand-watt smile. She made such a deep impact on us cohort “Q” in the short time we were together. She is my inspiration as a coach, and I strive to honor her memory in gratitude for all she taught me. I love you and miss you, Christy. Here’s something I wrote at the time of her death that captures just a bit of who Christy is and what she brought to my life. Her presence is so much bigger than I can convey here. Thank you for taking a moment to honor her memory with me today.
