It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since I quit my full-time job to give independent consulting a try. In a nutshell, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
I plan on writing a longer post to wrap up the year, but in the meantime I wanted to invite you all to come help me celebrate the anniversary of my independence (August 25, 2008 was my first Monday of self-employment). While I realize many of you don’t live in NYC, I hope those of you in the area can find it in your hearts to join me. I credit much of my success to this blog and most of all your readership and feedback. I’d love to be able to thank you in person with a clink of our beer glasses.

What a shame we couldn't meet up when I was at Delve:UI! I'm definitely sending happy thoughts as you celebrate the end of your first year freelancing. You made it! It's a rocky world out there, especially with the economy the way it is. Congratulations, and I hope our paths cross soon.
